The Shop Bargain Thread Empty The Shop Bargain Thread

Post by combom Mon Aug 11, 2008 3:48 pm

Here members can share bargains they have found in shops, especially sales and reduced items etc.

We will try to trim old stuff wherever possible!

Asda seem to have a reduced clothing rail out every day now, with new items daily, we have bought loads over the last two weeks for our daughter, at prices better then charity shops!

The rack is near Customer Services BTW.

had another look today maheb and there was no end date, so I guess it's 'when it's gone'.

just been to gainsboro woolies - dont bother with the woolworth sale, the 50% off is really "upto 50% off", most things are 20% off, most prices can be matched just by shopping around!

As per most 'sales'!!! They always advertise Up to X% off and then all you can find with a decent saving is something crap. I don't bother with sales anymore. I head straight for TK Max et al and buy at cheaper than the sales (unless it is the TK Max sale when its even cheaper still)

Quite right,Combom.Went to Woolies,Newark, and most stuff was 20% off, some at 10% and the odd item at 50%.Most stores offering discounts anyway. The promise of 50% of at Woolies had the desired affect as most shelves were bare and large queues at the tills.Sad to see a retail institution such as this come to an ignominious end.I remember ,as a child, the two Woolworth stores in Nottingham offering reasonable quality stuff at a fair price for families on limited incomes.
