PLAY BAN HITS KIDS’ HEALTH
CHILDREN are fat, unfit and scared of the outdoors because their over-protective parents are too afraid to let them play outside, according to a new report.
Bad weather, getting dirty and the risk of injury were also cited as barriers to allowing children out to play.

Re: PLAY BAN HITS KIDS’ HEALTH
I think people are also scared of being sued - be them parents, carers, teachers, whatever, there are far too many people who are very eager to jump on the compensation culture bandwagon. I get the Environmental Health News (sad or what lol) and what people are suing for these days is outrageous, kid falls over at another kids party - parents sue, kid falls over at school - parents sue, kid falls over at playgroup - parents sue.....am I the only one who can spot the common thread here??? Kids fall over!! Thats what they do!
And when you've got paramedics suing people because they had a trip whilst rescuing them.....well, what kind of example does that set?
Get over it and get a life!! Don't get me wrong, I think there is a time and place for certain lawsuits, but I get sick of reading about parents suing each other because little Johnny grazed his backside, or little Susie got a bump on the head.
And social services get it wrong too! Yes, we are all human, but surely some of us are downright incompentent, the amount of kiddies who suffer each year because social services employ chimps is ridiculous, and like maheb said, they would be all too quick to jump on you if you were innocent.
rant over!!! lol
