Chronic shortage across Britain 'forces midwives to handle three births at once'
Midwives are in such short supply that some have to care for three women in labour at the same time, an expert has warned.
Although some areas are experiencing a baby boom, with birthrates rising by up to 20 per cent, there are vacancies for midwives in every part of the country, the Royal College of Midwives said.

Re: Chronic shortage across Britain 'forces midwives to handle three births at once'
Not a fan of midwives after the births of my 2 sons where I may as well done it myself after researching on the internet.
Whenever they swapped shifts the arriving one would disagree with whatever the last one had said. When you ring the buzzer they don't get off their seat in their 'booth'.
They always say I'll pop back and check the monitor in half an hour. Then either arrive 2 hours later or not at all.
Not too impressed with the anaesthetists either. Indian one put the first epidural in then when my wife went down to surgery the polish one said who on earth did this.
Bunch of jobsworths and if I had the money I would go private!!!
