Disney accused by Catholic cleric of corrupting children's minds

A leading Catholic cleric has launched a fierce attack on Disney, claiming it has corrupted children and encouraged greed.

Christopher Jamison, the Abbot of Worth in West Sussex, has accused the corporation of "exploiting spirituality" to sell its products and of turning Disneyland into a modern day pilgrimage site.

He argues that it pretends to provide stories with a moral message, but has actually helped to create a more materialistic culture.

i agree with you combom let them get their own house in order first,and what about all the money they get for the pope etc living in luxury etc.

I think the Abbot is absolutely correct in saying Disney is trying to get children (well, their parents!) to spend money. But er... that's what commercial companies do! I'm no fan at all of Disney (mainly for other reasons) but they're not a charity.

As above, I also think it's a bit rich that the Cathloic Church is spouting on about the corruption of young minds!!!

well, other companies do the same, they just got a good gimmick first.
