I'M STILL ABOUT

Hi everyone
Glad to see your little site is going well - I last logged in August!! Shame on me eh? I have been visiting DDT once in a while but find too many greedy people on there and I just couldn't handle it - I am lucky to find that I Have close friends that need some of my stuff so have found good homes to stuff that I have wanted to give away.
Hope you are all ready for Christmas....I think I might pop on here a bit more often - I miss the banter.

im afraid DDT isnt what it was, yes too many greedy ppl, items last seconds or minutes on there at best, imho its the rss feed, which is the traders best friend! when we place items of any value we state they are all to go to different ppl, to give others a chance!

i've noticed that as well ,take quite a bit to charity shop instead now.
there are some new ones on that have no manners at all, one really rattles my cage with me me me all the time and the way they ask or tell members what they want is disgusting.

I still keep having a peek now and then but recently got a couple of rude,bad mannered responses which has only added fuel to the fire.I've been told by younger people that I take it too seriously but good manners cost nothing escpecially when your intentions are to help.Sign of the times,maybe.

in the end, everything changes of the worse!

i'm glad its not just me that as been noticing, i won't tell you what i would say to them , if they answered me rudely, most likely get banned.

Yes I noticed the rudeness too.... Its like they automatically think that if they put PLEASE PLEASE can I have a Plasma telly, that people will just say, "oh yeh, course you can, haven't a bloody clue who you are but here you go have a free PLASMA telly" - aaaaagggghhh.... and then they bump the thread over and over again appearing disappointed, if no one replied to it within a few days isn't it obvious. ANyway rant over - nice to be on here for a change where people seem to understand how I feel.

It didn't take me long to notice that some people had a T.V. in every room and wanted more! Even though I've been in a good position to help people with 'larger' items,I've sat on my hands.
I've even been sucked into the 'please,please,help,help,desparate,please,help' plea. I've been out on a limb to help and got items to people quickly only to receive an email a week later with thank-you but it was the wrong colour.
No more.As I said before,I still take a peak now and then but I'll only respond if I feel the need is genuine and I can make a worthwhile contribution.

i never look at the wanteds any more,unless i need a good laugh.
whats happened to the site its all grab grab grab now,such a shame

when the wanteds moved to "wanted pentum 4, 500 gig hd" etc, i stopped looking
