anyone diabetic

just been told i'm diabetic, and wondering if anyone else is
and if they got any good recipes for a snack dinner,please

im diabetic, i take tablets and inject twice a day, i NEVER have any special recipes, just avoid anything with lots of sugar, use sweeteners if possible, you can have sweets and biscuits etc, but in moderation, that means 1 or 2, not a packet lol

its not as bad as u may think! the bad news is you may put on weight though, its a diabetic thing

also dont join any diabetic inforation groups that cost u money, they are a waste of £££££

so i can have sweeters instead of sugar,won't bother me about sweets and biscuits,cakes etc and i'm trying to give up chocolate anyway.

also avoid anything high in fat, as your body turns fat into sugar!

choc isnt so bad, if u have plain, not much sugar in it!

PS - avoid diabetic chocs/sweets, they usually have more calories and are more unhealthy than regular ones (they are getting rarer as ppl wont buy them)

the prob with any food that is baked (sweets/biscuits/cakes/etc) is this. to stop your baked food becoming just mush it needs binding together, you can do this 2 ways, with fat or sugar, reduce one you have to increase another. and your body turns some fat to sugar anyhow!

yep, but i dont find being a diabetic a problem. also dont drink weak beer, drink strong beer, more sugar has turned to alcohol, avoid spirits.
