The death of the Camerons child.
I, like all parents on this site, cannot but be affected by this death. There will be cynics who will say that the sympathy generated in the public mind should guarantee Cameron a shoe-in as the next prime minister. I am not among them. The Conservative party will win the next election for the simple reason that Labour cannot. If there are any among us who pray remember the Camerons at this dreadful time. The unbearable loss of a child.

Every parents worst nightmare, I'm sure. I can't imagine how awful it must be to lose a child.
I don't know if it could have any real effect politically. The Browns have also lost a child, so all right thinking people would be sympathetic to both sides, in that sense.

Did the Browns child reach term? Ivan Cameron was a few years old and had a relatively high but sympathetic profile in the media. A miscarriage or worse, a neonatal loss is something that us blokes can only dare hint at.
