Any ideas on a good website name?
My main hobby is aquascaping. By that I mean planted aquariums that are a little more than just plants put into the aquarium They are 'scapes' which may try and resemble landscapes etc.
With this in mind I am currently designing a website but want a cool name.
I was originally thinking 'plantedbox' but someone already has that so you see the sort of name I am thinking of.
The name must 'indicate' the subject in some way though.
Any ideas welcome

Re: Any ideas on a good website name?
you need to remember that easy to remember and spell names are best - hence confused.com for insurance

They are both 'for sale'. The first I am quite surprised about!!! Will think about that one. Any suggestions for a good cheap but reliable host for not too much money (don't want the banners the cheap ones have ) May want a secure option eventually when I get my own payment section sorted out. This will be a while though. lol

Re: Any ideas on a good website name?
I think I am going to go with greenneedle.???. It sounds a little more modern and catchy.
However I am pretty surprised aquascaping.com is available as that is the first one you would think of
I don't want to use that as it looks too muchto me like 'The ultimate knowledge source'.
I mean it would look like I was the Liam Gallagher of aquascaping saying I'm the best and you're all rubbish.
One thing though is I assume that this would get more hits so I may buy that too if I can get it cheap and redirect it at the final site
I am writing the site and putting it up on my ntlpage at the moment and once finished will transfer it to whatever domain I get.
Here is the link for anyone who wants a sneaky peak. Only just started but you get the idea

have you considered a .net or .co.uk etc instead on .com, you can get a good price on a name here!

Re: Any ideas on a good website name?
anywhere who sells web addresses, .net. co.uk is always cheaper them .com , you may be able to take an address you thought was taken as a .net too
Re: Any ideas on a good website name?
Once again, probably trying to 'teach my grandmother to suck eggs' but whilst undertaking a similar project I came across www.1and1.co.uk which looks the biz and is cheap for domain names, web hosting and e-commerce.

Re: Any ideas on a good website name?
That site looks pretty expensive to me The prices they list are about the average of others which is fine but this site is only offering them for the first 6 months. This wouldn't be too bad but when you see the limits for monthly bandwith and webspace are tiny in comparison to others!!!
Still looking and will come back when I find something. I am using my ntl free webspace until its all finished

Re: Any ideas on a good website name?
I eventually bought the domain www.greenneedle.co.uk from freezone - £11.48 for 2 years.
The I got 2 years 'unlimited space and bandwith' from justhost.com for £47.50 which works out at £1.98/month.
Good deals
Check out the site. Its not fully completed but the 'framework' is there
Thanks for the help and advice

Re: Any ideas on a good website name?
I'm chuffed seeing as it is my first attempt at a website and had to learn dreamweaver from scratch (as I built it.)
Had to start again a couple of times from silly mistakes
