Food crawling with maggots and gnawed by rats was discovered by health inspectors who swooped on a food processing business in Lincolnshire.

Magistrates in Lincoln heard that hundreds of people had been put at risk by the refuse and filth at Allan Rich Seafoods.

They gave the go-ahead for 200 tonnes of fish worth £120,000 to be destroyed.
