A teacher has been banned from a primary school after telling children Father Christmas does not exist.

The female supply teacher told pupils at Blackshaw Lane Primary in Royton, Oldham, that it was parents, not Santa, who left their gifts on Christmas Day.

Several parents complained to the head teacher, who has since accepted an apology from the teacher concerned.

exactly. It is a case of it being the paren'ts choice being taken away when someone else decides to break the little myth.

I think they did right for a change.

Would there be a 'banning was a bit harsh' if a non believing teacher told the class there was no such person/being as God?

There would be uproar. IMO it is the same thing. The parents should have the choice of what to tell their children in these 2 matters.

I would have to add before someone chimes in that one exists and one doesn't that I believe in neither so to me it is the same thing.
