FOOTBALL BANNED FOR BEING DANGEROUS

PARENTS are furious that a school has banned children playing football in the playground. The health-and-safety crackdown came after some youngsters were hit by flying footballs.

One father of a child at Wood End primary in Harpenden, Herts, hit out at headmistress Diana John’s “namby pamby” attitude to everyday incidents, saying: “What is the world coming to when children are not allowed to be children?”
