A couple of weeks ago during a break in the weather I went for a walk in Derbyshire to find a 'church' that I'd read about on another site.(Before I go any further - I try to get out and about every fortnight on various walks which have an unusual interest but confine myself to the Notts,Lincs,Derbys area. i.e driving distance.)
This walk is unusual because the highlight is a series of interconnecting caves known as Anchor Church.Furthermore,the walk includes Heath Wood,the site of the only known Viking Cremation Cemetry, Foremark Hall and Lake (1755) ( Repton Prep School),St Saviours Church and The Black Pool which is a partial oxbow of the Trent and is overlooked by Anchor Church.This walk , circular,is about 4.5 miles.
Although about 60 miles from Lincoln I cannot recommend this walk enough and rather than waste valuable space here I'll give you the link so you can read all about it yourself.I would allocate a day and you won't be dissapointed.(Note that I was there a couple of weeks ago with snow on the ground and the Black Pool was lapping at the far end of the sandstone buff.A diversion was required.)

ps i like photoshop, if u go to the church you will see a 30mph sign, a telephone distribution box, a "church open" sign, some litter and other items i didnt like, so i removed them all

One of the main reason for showing a general view of Anchor Church is the strange image of what looks like a ghost in the window waving at me.Unfortunately the full photo width wasn't shown on here so I couldn't refer to it but you would have seen it at photobucket.There popping up everywhere.

i can see a human in two pictures, no "ghosts" though

You've seen more than me!Had to go back and look.

pic 2 has a man looking out if the window, pic 3 has a man in an anorak, not lit, so i assume no flash was used

numbering as posted on here, "man" may be a woman, you cant tell the gender

Thanks for this link, I'm definitely gonna give this walk a go sometime this year. The photos of Anchor church are fantastic.
