Children's clothes sizes to be changed to cope with obesity epidemic
High street retailers plan to draw up new sizes, in response to the growing number of overweight and obese children.
Shops including Next, Asda and Monsoon are measuring 6,000 boys and girls amid an obesity epidemic which means one in three British children is now classed as overweight.
Manufacturers will use the results of the survey, using high-tech scanners, to decide how far to increase waist sizes and other measurements to allow for the expanding bulk of the average child. Most companies currently rely on statistics on children’s sizes that were published in 1990, as the obesity epidemic was just beginning.

Re: Children's clothes sizes to be changed to cope with obesity epidemic
At long last.Someone has taken the initiative to tackle the problem of our childrens obesity.
Hide it.
Bury it.
Camouflage it.
Cloak it.
Conceal it.
Cover it.
Disguise it.
Mask it.
Obscure it.
Screen it.
Shroud it.
Veil it.
Hush it up.
Keep it secret.
Suppress it.
But whatever you do don't teach and practice healthy eating and regular excercise. That'll be too much hard work.Too much conflict.
(I am gratefull for the help of 'The Collins Shorter (but not fatter) Dictionary and Thesaurus' without whose help the above list could not have been compiled)

Re: Children's clothes sizes to be changed to cope with obesity epidemic
the trouble is that some people have been trying to teach them
and not all fatness is caused by over eating and lack of excerise
i know a few people who have illnesses ,some of the medication they are
on makes them put on weight ,but without the medication they could get seriously ill, why shouldn't children have all size waists etc, my children were skinny and it was difficult to find clothes for them that didn't hang either too low or too short ,manufacters should realise that children come in all shapes and sizes, and parents should realise sticking a child in front of a telly or computer is not good for them, etc.
but everyone as there own free agency so will do as they please but also need to realise the outcomes of their desicions.
