Supermarkets 'push fatty foods'
Supermarkets are offering too many promotions for fatty or sugary foods, campaigners say.
The National Consumer Council went into all eight major chains and found over half of promotions were for unhealthy foods - double the level seen in 2006.

sainsburys were selling tomatoes,carrots,oranges at 40p a bag full and not reduced stuff ,basics.

the problem is if it is reduced fat it is higher in sugar so you don't really win.

most ppl dont realise if you take fat out of something, you have to add more sugar, if you remove sugar you have to add fat. remove both and you have a pile of goo

learning alot about food after nathan became diabetic is an eye opener.

I have learned a lot about food too after having to go one a very very strict low fat diet because my liver is failing, Its shocking how much fat is stashed in ordinary everyday foods.

thats why its always best to get fresh if you can afford it ,and don't have a hubby like mine.

Tesco have got big tins of quality street & roses on BOGOF
I personally would like to see more offers on not only fruit & veg, but things like toiletries, and non food items such as laundry products.
And don't get me started on the price of pasta these days!!!

pasta is expensive as wheat is more expensive worldwide!
i like to see BOGOF offers on things that last more then 4 days, so not on fresh/dairy, otherwise you end up throwing loads away
